Hello and welcome to the FOP 36 website.  FOP 36 is a united organization of approximately 240 active members, more than 200 retired members, and over 600 associate members. Ours is one of the largest FOP organizations in all of Indiana.  Our membership includes some of the bravest men and women in law enforcement.  Our members live and work in this community, take pride in this community, and welcome the community to be a part of our organization in a number of ways.

I wanted to take a few minutes to explain what FOP 36 is about.  Our main goal is to help our membership as well as the citizens of our community, without which we would not exist.  Each and every day as law enforcement officers we go out into the community with one goal in mind: helping those in need.  FOP 36 also has the same goal.  As a nonprofit organization we are a giving group, participating in numerous fund raising events throughout the year, so that we can provide donations back to the community.

Over the years the South Bend Police Department has lost some brave officers in the line of duty – each of them a member of our lodge.  We as FOP 36 stand with those families in their time of need and in the years that follow, helping them with whatever tasks come forward.  It is not just our obligation as members of FOP 36, but it is what we stand for.

FOP 36 members and their spouses are eligible to rent a very nice banquet facility which is also open to anyone in the community that is in need of hosting a wedding reception, birthday party, fund raising event, or office party.  We also encourage the community to join FOP 36 as associate members, and utilize our shooting range, which is maintained by some of the finest firearms instructors in the area. FOP 36 also hosts the WOMEN ON TARGET program which trains local women in proper firearms safety and techniques.  During the spring and summer months, FOP 36 hosts numerous softball leagues for both men and women on our two diamond softball complex.  The FOP 36 grounds are family friendly with a large playground area for children.  Other events we have hosted include but are not limited to an annual hog roast, seasonal fish fries, poker tournaments, and Shop With a Cop.  As president of FOP36, I encourage each one of you to take a few minutes and look through our website to see what FOP 36 can do for you, or what you can do to help our dedicated FOP.
